AGRI-PLAS Profile |
Agri-Plas Systems 2000 Inc. was incorporated in the spring of 2000 to help deal with industrial and agricultural plastic waste. Agri-Plas had been studying plastic waste issues in various sectors of industry for the past 5 years and was the first to develop an economical and efficient process to recycle agricultural waste products under the name of Island Plastics Inc. originally in 1997. At that time Prince Edward Island had a major agricultural problem, more than 1000+ tonnes of plastic waste and very little land for waste disposal. The farmers had two choices here on the Island at, they could burn it on the back forty and risk environmental fines, or truck it to the center of the Island and pay $45 per tonne + to dispose of the plastic waste. Landfill sites are rejecting this plastic waste as there are now further options for disposal. Through a co-ordinated effort between Island Plastics Inc. and several government departments, IPI and Agri-Plas Systems 2000 offer FREE drop off No Tippage fees, to their clients. This saves the farmers time & money.
From there we have expanded into other waste materials that are related to the polyethylene family. Plastic waste generated from manufacturers that had been believed impossible to recycle; now have a recovery program thanks to Agri-Plas Systems.
We also service other industries and have major clients
outside the farming community. The Agri-Plas system allows you to
reduce the amount of plastic waste that is currently being buried. This would
be beneficial to the Solid Waste Management groups that have to extend the life
of the landfills. The Agri-Plas system is one of the most inexpensive
systems to date that is capable of processing such polyethylene waste. Manufacturing facilities will find it an asset
to implement an Agri-Plas system to reduce tipping fees at landfill and
may even allow them to introduce a new product line from their waste stream.
Agri-Plas Systems are the most economical
and efficient systems to use. They are highly affordable and, unlike all
other systems that have developed high-tech equipment, Agri-Plas has
kept their system very simplistic. The main concern with expensive
equipment is being overly selective as to what material is processed with
it. Agri-Plas equipment is made tough and will endure all types of
polyethylene. Agri-Plas Systems are very elementary to learn,
inexpensive to operate, and financially and environmentally rewarding. The Agri-Plas
System is not only for private companies, but for municipalities, environmental
groups, private individuals, and governments also. It is a sure way to reduce
the bulk of waste ending up in landfill sites and as a bonus it gives you value
added products. Agri-Plas Systems 2000 Inc. has the ability to deal with
such waste items from the "plastics" industry and is presently
working on other related solid waste solutions. This is so much a win, win,
situation, with protecting the environment, the government saving money,
creating employment, cleaning up landfills, saving trees and creating an
environmentally friendly product. Nothing has ever come so close to being the perfect
product but “Agri-Plas” lumber could be the first, and revolutionize the
word “Recycle”. Visit www.agriplas.ca
