<x-charset iso-8859-1>I am looking for information on the effectiveness of insecticide use in
preventing human disease caused by an arthropod-borne virus such as WNV,
including such information as typical kill rates for the various
larvicides and adulticides and whether the kill rate translates into
prevention of human disease cases.
I am seeking any reports/articles (published or unpublished) you may
have produced or are aware of, that assess the effectiveness of
insecticiding by use of mosquito numbers/human disease case surveillance
data. (Relevant threads from the WESTNILEVIRUS-L and PROMED-L have been
reviewed.) In addition, any information that describes policy for
public health pesticide usage, e.g., what criteria (surveillance data,
etc.) are required before the order for insecticiding is given, if not
on your state's public health web site, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance,
Val Mann
