POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN AVIAN IMMUNE RESPONSE TO WEST NILE VIRUS

Summary:
The Bioscience Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory integrates
biology, chemistry, physics, and computational sciences to build a
strong scientific and technological base for addressing complex
problems of national importance. We are currently seeking a qualified
candidate to join an interdisciplinary team of cell biologists and
ecologists focused on understanding the role of the avian immune system
in the development of West Nile Virus disease, and in development of
new diagnostic methods for application to the study of the avian immune
response. Successful candidates will have strong foundations in
molecular and cellular biology, and in the development and application
of diagnostic assays.  The selected candidate will become a member of
the National Flow Cytometry Resource, funded by the National Institutes
of Health.

Required Skills:
Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following technical areas:
flow cytometry, protein biochemistry, viral diagnostic methods,
molecular assays.
Desired skills: Expertise in quantitative measurement approaches,
complex data analysis, molecular epidemiology, avian biology.
Experience working in a Biosafety Level 2 or 3 laboratory is strongly
desired.

Education:
A Ph.D. completed within the last five years or soon to be completed is
required.
Notes to Applicants:  For additional information contact Babetta
