I invite you to mark your calendar for Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at 2 pm EST (11 am PST) for an informative live web cast and conference call on some of the latest developments in the monitoring, geographic modeling and remediation of West Nile Virus.

This special web cast for public health personnel involved in the campaign against West Nile Virus will feature the following presentations:

á Overview of the New York City Department of Health's response to West Nile Virus in 2002 by Dr. Dan Markowski, Ph.D, Deputy Director, Office of Vector Surveillance and Control, Department of Health, City of New York.

á Case study on field larvicide application program including treatment route assignment and field tracking technologies.

á Presentation of Geographic Information System (GIS) predictive model for West Nile Virus by Dr. Sean Ahearn, Ph.D of Hunter College's Center for Analysis and Research of Spatial Information.
