Subject: CO2 and VECTEST

Has anyone out there experienced any problems using CO2 to
anesthetize mosquitoes prior to VecTesting. There are reports that
arboviruses may be killed by acidification if mosquitoes are exposed
to CO2. This may be a problem for cell culture assays, but is it a
problem for VecTesting? Would be interested in hearing from anyone
who has VecTest positives from pools of mosquitoes exposed to CO2 by
gas or dry ice.
