Subject: WNV vaccine reactions?

I got the following post from a rehabilitator in NW Texas, who got the
information from her vet, who got it (as the quote says) from the Dept of
Health. No one seemed to know what species were being vaccinated at this
zoo - but I was wondering if Fort Dodge might have changed the medium or
something. Has anyone else heard of a higher incidence of strong allergic
reactions to the vaccine this year? Very worrisome, if so.

"The consensus on the WNV for this current year is that we are better off to
not vaccinate any new birds that might come in than to vaccinate." Dr.
Farley received a post from someone at TDH (Texas Dept. of Health) who
received a post from a zoo official, saying the rate of anaphylaxis to the
equine WNV vaccine is much higher this year - -and - in the first 24 hours -
and no other diseases or causes for this anaphylaxis were isolated.

Has anyone else heard or read anything along these lines?
