The September 20, 2002 edition of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (US Federal Centers for Disease Control) updates information on the status of investigations into organ transplant and blood transfusion as potential means for transmitting West Nile Virus. This topic was addressed in WestNileVirus-L postings Sept 3, 4, 5, and 6, 2002. These postings contain background information and links to previous CDC news releases on this topic. This issue of the MMWR also contains the weekly update from CDC on WNV cases in the US. -- LCL
